Both Spacesteader One and The Crystal Labyrinth are great reads for children and for young teens. The novels are parts of a thrilling new sci-fi series. These are family books that people of all ages can enjoy.
In The Crystal Labyrinth, only Earthlings can see in the darkness of Sunderworld's nighttime. This is because the planet's night is not as dark as Earth's, but rather is more like the amber-reddish tint of photographic darkroom.
Many natural creatures on Earth are blinded by this long wavelength of the spectrum, but we humans are only slightly hampered by this tint. The people of Sunderworld, on the other hand, cannot see in this spectrum, affording only Earthlings a highly effective night-vision. Imagine if you were one of a handful of people who could see right through solid castle walls. On the planet Sunderworld, palaces are all built of a clear crystalline stone that native inhabitants are unable to see through. Only Earthlings can see through these solid walls of glass. Experience x-ray vision as you read The Crystal Labyrinth.
Imagine that dinosaurs had not gone extinct on Earth 65 million years ago. What if they had survived on a segregated continent (such as a much-more-isolated Australia) and continued evolving in a similar manner as mammals? This alien race may have been mankind's enemies. How would this conflict have panned out at the height of the iron age? This question is explored in in The Crystal Labyrinth.
